Willam Lee Carroll,

 Aspiring Creator/Cartoonist

Since I was very young growing up in Staten Island, I’ve always strived to be an artist, out of nowhere as a two-year-old, I decided to draw something, anything and I did, and I haven’t stopped ever since. 23 years later, after studying at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, receiving a Bachelors's degree in Animation, I am ready to make my mark on the entertainment world in my own madcap irrelevant way.

Art like most things never comes easy, I started off by asking my friends and family to draw things I liked, but from then on I decided to do it myself. So I started drawing by and for myself by doodling my favorite things like the Muppets and Looney Tunes, which I still do today. But soon tried my skills in other ways, beneficial to those around me, from doing caricature jobs at parties at age 12 to designing the cover of the school yearbook from elementary school to my high school days.

When it comes to naming influences that mold my unique style of drawing, there’s a few that come to mind like Jim Henson, Burr Tillstrom, Chuck Jones, Jim Davis, Tove Johnson, Charles Schultz, early Fleischer cartoons, outside of animation there are also old short films like The Three Stooges, Marx Bros and Abbot and Costello, not to mention, real-life with the many people in my life like my family, friends, and co-workers, that help me create new and innovative characters.

When it comes to describing my style of artwork, I would say that it’s very loose, very cute, and also very familiar and retro to fans of old cartoons and films from the early 50s to 60s, I'm effectively an old soul, in a young body If you ever see my work I hope you enjoy it as much as I do creating it.

As a passionate and motivated professional, I’m constantly striving to improve my techniques, expand my skillset and find new opportunities to grow. Each of my projects - both solo and collaborative - have provided this growth and allowed me to establish myself within this competitive industry. Please enjoy my portfolio, and feel free to get in touch with any questions.
